3 NEW CLAIMS OPEN "NOW OPEN" Jan 1,2003
  • 1, Bryant Creek
  • 2, Dutchman's Creek
  • 3, Last Chance Creek

All are located near the Cherokee/Dawson County line only 1/2 mile from the Franklin Creighton Mine. New roads are being cut for vehicle use on Jan 4,2003. These Creeks will support any dredge size from the 1.5" Pack/rat to a full 5" Keene dredge. These Claims are open annually from Jan 1 thru Sept 30th.

The Mattie B officially opens December 1,2001. Located in North Georgia in Cherokee County. Claim size is 100+ acres with several Gold Bearing streams.
Testing and sampling the claim has shown promising results. Charity Creek can suppoet up to a 4' dredge easily. Camping is EXCELLENT and very REMOTE.


DAWSON RUN #3 OFFICIALLY OPENS DECEMBER 1,2001. Located on the ETOWAH RIVER in DAWSON COUNTY,GA.


The G.G.P.A. will be opening"NOW OPEN" 4 NEW CLAIMS on Feb 1,2001. All of the claims are in the Cherokee County areas. Quoting the Assistant State Geologist S.W.McCallie, Bulletin 4a Published 1896.
"There is likely no county in the State, where legitimate Gold Mining has been carried on so successfully, as in Cherokee. The early mining was confined almost entirely, to placer-workings, which were both numerous and profitable". [end quote]

All of these claims are within 1/2 to 1 mile from the Famous Franklin-Creighton Gold Mine, the most productive mine of it's kind in the State of Georgia.
    The claims are known as;

  • 2, Beard's creek
  • 3, No-Mans Land
  • 4, Fletcher's Gulch
  • 5, Mattie B
    There are a remaining 4 claims on the future claims list, yet to be opened. But due to time restraints and available resources, of the G.G.P.A.. These claims will be held on RESERVE, untill a later date, for official opening. The current claims scheduled for Jan 20,2002 will give the G.G.P.A. a total of 16 open and viable Gold Prospecting Properties in the State of Georgia. Therefore permitting the G.G.P.A. to announce that it has within it's holding, MORE GOLD CLAIMS than any other Recreational Gold Prospecting Organization, in the State of Georgia and possibly in the Southeastern United States. These claims mentioned, do not entail or include any of our other holdings out side of the boundaries of the State of Georgia, in the Southeast. Of which there are several.

    The G.G.P.A. is a FAMILY ORIENTED ORGANIZATION, geared and constructed in the belief, that the entire family can also enjoy the benifits of our organization.     Another New Claim DAWSON #1 was added to our Association Properties on Sunday August 29,1999. This claim is located in Dawson County,Ga. You'll now be able to take a canoe trip on the Etowah from Dawson Run down river to our Cherokee claim [6 hours]. The property is 100 acres in area,with excellent access for 2whl/dr vehicles. This is an excellent area with abundant history concerning Gold Prospecting and Mining. This property will have camping available for 6 nights/7 day stay. The property will officially open Sept 10,1999.
