Letters We have had an unusually, great response this year concerning, GO FOR THE GOLD TOURS and also comments about the Georgia Gold Prospectors Association this 1999 mining season. Due to the overwhelming response, of the many kind letters and e-mails from our guests and GGPA members. We thought it would be appropriate to share these , with our many visitors to our Website. In the very near future, when we have time, we will post the letters and e-mails, So you can read for yourself what our Guests and Members have to say about The Georgia Gold Prospectors Association and GO FOR THE GOLD TOURS. These letters are the actual words, written by the folks who sent them. We did not alter them in any way. Nor did we make up any of the letters that are posted. If you doubt our sincerity, we will gladly arrange a conference call so you yourself can talk to the folks who wrote these letters. We felt it was a violation of their privacy, to have strangers call them unannounced at all hours of the day or night. Jim, My wife and I drove up from Florida to attend the GGPA Outing on July 21, 2001, and we would like to compliment you and the other members of the club for putting on a really great Outing. We were both particularly impressed with the family nature of the event. The kids had as much fun as the adults in the gold panning and the metal detector coin hunt. Thanks to those members who put the long hours over the bar-b-que for a delicious feast, and to those who buried the endless number of coins. I personally found four gold dollars, with my Whites Goldmaster, if you can believe that! We both thoroughly enjoyed the panning contest using real gold, and to our surprise we got to keep all the gold that we panned. That has to be a first for any club that I am familiar with. A special thanks to Dave and Leslie for being such gracious hosts for allowing the Outing to be held at East Coast Prospecting. Once again thanks for all your work in putting on a first rate Outing. Floyd and Karen Cooper Hi Jim and thanks for a great outing. plenty of good food and fun. I have lots of pictures to post of the outing. Kyle Hi Jim That was a great Outing. Had a good time......... Joe Pickering Jim, First of all wife and I would like to thank you very much for all your time and effort in putting together the outing over the Fourth of July at the Dawson Run claim. We really enjoyed ourselves. Food and conversation was great. We especially enjoyed the presentation by Bill concerning the geology of the Appalachians. I cannot begin to tell you how much we learned from this outing. We would have liked to have stayed through the 3rd and 4th of July however, as you know, our daughter, her husband and our grand kids were waiting for us back at the cabin and we needed to spend time with them as they were leaving for Washington, DC (family is more important than gold - hmmmmmmmmm). Jim, Thank you for all the things you did to make a great outing.Truman, Gary and I came away with alot of knowledge. We have a lot ot learn, but we know much more than we did. Great weather, great food, and lots of good people will sum up the way I feel about the outing. We will try to do our part in building the membership. I hope that we get the opportunity to visit some of the other claims very soon. Keep us informed on any changes, additions, or any way we can be of help. Bill- South Carolina Jim, I thought I'd drop you a few lines to just say thank you for the outing held this past weekend.Jerry & Shirley, my wife & myself were very impressed with the professional way the outing was set up and managed. We were equally impressed with the friendly welcome we received from all the outing participants., this jim, was what I was looking for in a club,to be welcomed as a member in person and not a number. Jim, thanks for starting the club, and thanks again for a job well done. Calvin- Georgia Jim, Just wanted to thank you for all your hospitality and making my Mom and I comfortable and welcome during our short stay in Georgia. We both had a great time. I know Mom was real happy and is looking forward to panning for gold in her area. This was something she always wanted to do an I'm gald we made this trip possible for her. Oh, and you were right, we already do wish we were back there again !!! Take care Jim and thanks for everything. Paula- New Jersey Jim, I learned a great deal and everyone was very open and made me feel at home. I need to learn a bit more about how to read a river or stream for gold. I'm going to do some research on finding some equipment. Thanks again for inviting me to come out and take part in the club outing. Mike- Georgia Jim, I'd love to do another weekend - let me know what weekends you've already booked some people, see if you can make room for me. Thanks, Doc Jack. MD.PA. MARINE,SUNSHINE,CUDDLES AND "CRITTERS" (WE BROUGHT A COUPLE HOME IN OUR BAGS) Mike & Christa, Baltimore,Md. I haven't seen the website in while, and I was amazed to see not only the Kellog Mine, but also the new claim up river from Ballground.I also noticed the membership is almost full. You've done a great job, and hope you realize how much most of us appreciate what you've done. You've often said that your goal is to take up where David left off,but I believe you have done more than that. When I went to Ballground in July I was happy to see how good the club was taking care of the property.Well, I don't mean to ramble, but just wanted to tell you thanks and see ya up at Coker Creek this weekend. Rick Moore Made it home uneventfully. Lots of law enforcement activity on I-75 -- I was glad to be driving a big-ole van that's happy cruising at 70-75 mph. Did anyone find any of those gold coins yet? If some of those boys with their fancy equipment were coming up empty, it seems to me those coins will remain underground for a while. From what I saw, people were coming up with good color out of the puddles. I was real pleased with the conditions -- didn't have to put my head in the water once. Doc John and I had a good time teaming up on the dredge. We've talked about maybe getting together and give Dentland a try some weekend when the water comes back up -- maybe hauling down a small dredge and commuting to the site. I'll certainly give you and Bobby a holler if we get a date set up. Thanks again for your help and hospitality. It's certainly a pleasure being part of a group whose friendliness and warmth cut across social and economic boundaries, and whose leadership displays the highest of integrity. Doc Jack
