We will go up into the mountains to the Gold Belt, Gold was discovered in 1828 in the town of BallGround, only 10 miles from the famous Franklin-Creighton Mine. Ballgound is where the Gold Rush became the center of activity for miners in the Cherokee County,Ga. Gold Mining was set aside during the Civil War and never really started up again like it was during the Pre-Civil War era. The Great Gold Rush of California drew almost all of the miners west, to the promised land . Georgia was forgotten, leaving all the gold behind! The Finest Quality of Gold on the North American Continent just laying there for the last 150 years, just waiting to be found. Our Georgia GOLD Adventures are from April 1st - October 15th. They originate from Atlanta, GA and are 1-5 days in length. We also have day trips out of Atlanta where you will leave at dawn and return at dusk.
